One of the most asked questions I get is "are your rhinestones Swarovski or Preciosa?" The answer is simply No. In fact Swarovski stopped making rhinestones a few years ago. So what is the difference between them all?
Crystal glass rhinestones were produced mainly in Austria by Swarovski and Preciosa are produced in the Czech Republic. Both brands are definitely of a very high quality (and fairly pricey). However, there are also quality glass rhinestones produced in China which give a similar look but at a mere fraction of the price. So although used interchangeably, Swarovski and Preciosia are in fact actually JUST brand names rather than a stone type.
